There was a minor upset in Hyogo where 4th placed Nishinomiya S. (2-6) was defeated by sixth ranked Shiga L-Stars (2-6) 78-62 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 43-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Shiga L-Stars outrebounded Nishinomiya S. 41-28 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shiga L-Stars made 10 blocks. American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) stepped up and scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winners and Egyptian-American center Omar Samhan (211-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Connor Lammert (206-94, college: Texas) with 16 points and the other American import guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Shiga L-Stars moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Nishinomiya S. Shiga L-Stars will face Osaka Evessa (#5) at home in the next round. Nishinomiya S. will play against Shimane Magic and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
