Regular Season Round 6: Antibes - Le Mans 69-72

The most exciting game of round 6 in the ProA took place in Antibes. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 11th ranked Olympique Antibes (2-4) to top-ranked Le Mans (6-0) 72-69 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-69. The best player for the winners was American guard Justin Cobbs (190-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Senegalese center Youssoupha Fall (221-95) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Le Mans players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) who recorded 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import guard Vincent Sanford (193-90, college: Dayton, agency: Inception Sports) added 17 points respectively. Le Mans have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Olympique Antibes lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with four games lost. They share the position with Paris-Levallois and Gravelines. Le Mans are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Chalon/Saor (#18) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Olympique Antibes will play against Gravelines-Dunkerque (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
