Date: October 21, 2017
The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Valencia's (3-1) road victory over 6th ranked Magec Tias (1-3) in Las Palmas 83-58 on Saturday. The game without a history. Valencia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Magec Tias' 26. It was a great shooting night for Valencia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Quite impressive performance for Brazilian forward Isabela Ramona-Lyra (180-94) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. Portuguese guard Maria Bettencourt-Correia (173-91, agency: ProDep Management) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four Valencia players scored in double figures. Raby Oliveira replied with 9 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Keira Robinson (173, college: VCU) added 15 points in the effort for Magec Tias. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valencia moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with CVCD Granada. Newly promoted Magec Tias dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Valencia will face Almeria (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Magec Tias will play against the league's second-placed Leganes and hope to win that game.
