Regular Season Round 6: ES Chalonnais - Gravelines 71-74

The most exciting game of round 6 in the ProA U21 took place in Chalon. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked ES Chalonnais (3-3) to top-ranked Gravelines (6-0) 74-71 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Matthias Flosse (209-98) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Lucas Bourhis (179-0) chipped in 11 points, 6 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Gravelines' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Etienne Ca (210-97) with 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Matthieu Missonnier (184-97) scored 13 points and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gravelines have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Cholet. ES Chalonnais lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Gravelines is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Antibes (#18) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. ES Chalonnais will play against Le Mans (#17) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
