Regular Season Round 4: Ascensores Tresa - GDKO Bizkaia 54-62

Bottom-ranked Ascensores Tresa is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to third ranked GDKO Bizkaia (3-1) 62-54 on Saturday evening. Ascensores Tresa was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 15-4 charge of GDKO Bizkaia, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ascensores Tresa to just 4 points in fourth quarter. GDKO Bizkaia dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Ascensores Tresa's 22. GDKO Bizkaia forced 21 Ascensores Tresa turnovers. It was a very good performance for forward Grace Alonso-de-Armino (178-92, college: Freed-Hardeman) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Peyton Ferris (175-93, college: Montana St.) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four GDKO Bizkaia players scored in double figures. American forward Riley Nordgaard (178-93, college: Montana St.) replied with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Argentinian Isabella Sangali added 10 points and 5 steals in the effort for Ascensores Tresa. GDKO Bizkaia moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Ascensores Tresa still closes the standings with four games lost. GDKO Bizkaia will face Segle XXI (#14) in Barcelona in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ascensores Tresa will play at home against ADBA and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
