There was a minor upset when higher ranked JDA Dijon (3-3) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Le Portel (3-3) 74-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Le Portel. JDA Dijon was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded JDA Dijon 38-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Trae Golden (189-91, college: Georgia Tech) who scored 14 points and 6 assists. Point guard Tweety Carter (180-86, college: Baylor) chipped in 15 points. Le Portel's coach Eric Girard used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard JJ Frazier (178-95, college: Georgia) who recorded 8 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Rion Brown (198-91, college: Miami, FL) added 16 points respectively. Le Portel moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated JDA Dijon. Le Portel will face higher ranked Hyeres-Toulon (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
