Regular Season Round 4: Ylli - Bashkimi 92-80

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Bashkimi (2-2) against fourth ranked Xhebrailat (3-1) on Saturday night. Visiting Bashkimi was defeated by Xhebrailat in Therande 92-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bashkimi. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Xhebrailat dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Bashkimi's 28. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Xhebrailat made 8 blocks. American forward Taylor Bessick (206, college: Iona) fired a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. International forward Arif Mehmetaj (201-94, college: Daemen) chipped in 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Samir Zekiqi (202-95) produced 27 points and Bulgarian guard Aleksandar Gruev (187-83) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Four Bashkimi players scored in double figures. Xhebrailat moved-up to second place, which they share with Rahoveci. Loser Bashkimi dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Peja. Xhebrailat will meet league's leader Sigal Prishtina on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bashkimi will play against Peja and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
