Regular Season Round 5: Souffel - Saint-Quentin 73-76

The most interesting game of round 5 was only three-point a home defeat of 6th ranked Souffelweyersheim (3-2) to fifth ranked Saint-Quentin (4-1) 76-73 in the game for the third place. Canadian-British power forward Maurice Walker (208-91, college: Minnesota) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and Desmond Quincy-Jones (201-85, college: Pace) chipped in 18 points. Lithuanian power forward Giedrius Staniulis (205-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Theo Diehl (192-94) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Souffelweyersheim players scored in double figures. Saint-Quentin have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Souffelweyersheim at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Saint-Quentin are looking forward to face La Charite (#6) at home in the next round. Souffelweyersheim will play against ALS Basket in Andrezieux and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
