Date: October 21, 2017
Bottom-ranked Nassjo (0-4) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to fifth ranked Norrkoping Dolphins (2-2) 95-56. The game was mostly controlled by Norrkoping Dolphins. Nassjo was better in second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Norrkoping Dolphins made 25-of-32 charity shots (78.1 percent) during the game. Norrkoping Dolphins outrebounded Nassjo 35-21 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Nassjo helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for American guard Gerry Blakes (193-93, college: Arizona St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Abdou Medjedoub (198-93) contributed with 22 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Norrkoping Dolphins players scored in double figures. American center Isaiah Johnson (208-94, college: Akron) replied with 13 points and Lithuanian forward Mantas Griskenas (200-85, college: Wichita St., agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 9 points in the effort for Nassjo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Norrkoping Dolphins maintains fifth position with 2-2 record. Nassjo at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Norrkoping Dolphins' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Sodertalje Kings on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Nassjo will play against Uppsala Basket (#6) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
