Regular Season Round 6: AZS UMCS - JAS FBG 58-64

There was an upset in Lublin where higher ranked AZS UMCS (3-2) was defeated by eleventh ranked JAS FBG (2-4) 64-58 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 36-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely AZS UMCS outrebounded JAS FBG 47-29 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Robyn Parks (183-92, college: VCU) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Ketia Swanier (170-86, college: Connecticut) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Nigerian forward Uju Ugoka (185-93, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Two Points) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 20 rebounds and Serbian Dajana Butulija (174-86, agency: BeoBasket) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. JAS FBG moved-up to ninth place, which they share with TS Ostrovia and CCC Polkowice. Loser AZS UMCS keeps the fifth position with two games lost. JAS FBG will face higher ranked AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (#6) in Gorzow Wlkp. in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AZS UMCS will play at home against the league's leader Artego Bydg. where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
