Regular Season Round 4: Alghero - Orvieto 69-46

Alghero can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they outplayed much higher ranked Orvieto (2-2) 69-46 on Saturday. Bulgarian forward Veronika Dzhikova (178-90) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Diarra Sow (180-99) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Giorgia Manfrc (183-92) produced 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Martina Lombardo (173-96) added 10 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alghero maintains thirteenth position in A2 with 1-3 record. Loser Orvieto dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. Alghero will face higher ranked Palermo (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
