Gipuzkoa UPV (4-1) recorded its first loss in San Sebastian on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by twelfth ranked Socinsa Bembibre (1-4) 64-58. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Gipuzkoa UPV. The guests trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 32-18 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Socinsa Bembibre dominated on the defensive end, holding Gipuzkoa UPV to just 2 points in third quarter. The best player for the winners was Canadian center Quinn Urbaniak-Dornstauder (193-95, college: Arizona St.) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. American guard Brittany Brown (173-95, college: Florida St., agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Argentinian Lyndra Weaver produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and Senegalese power forward Oumoul Sarr (185-84) added 4 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Gipuzkoa UPV's coach Aranzazu Muguruza rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Socinsa Bembibre left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with Zamarat. Gipuzkoa UPV at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Socinsa Bembibre is looking forward to face Campus Promete (#13) in Logrono in the next round.
