There was an upset when much higher ranked Twarde Pierniki (3-2) lost to thirteenth ranked Rosa (2-1) in Radom 68-83 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-68. Rosa outrebounded Twarde Pierniki 46-34 including 31 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Kevin Punter (188-93, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. International swingman Michal Sokolowski (196-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Five Rosa players scored in double figures. International Aaron Cel (203-87) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Senegalese center Cheikh Mbodj (208-87, college: Cincinnati, agency: Octagon Europe) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Twarde Pierniki. Twarde Pierniki's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rosa moved-up to eighth place, which they share with BM Slam Stal and Polpharma. Loser Twarde Pierniki dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Rosa will face higher ranked Wilki Morskie (#7) in Szczecin in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Twarde Pierniki will play at home against PGE Turow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
