Regular Season Round 5: Palma - Castello 78-80

There was a minor upset in S'Arenal where higher ranked Palma (2-3) was edged by thirteenth ranked Castello (2-3) 80-78 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-78. The best player for the winners was power forward Eduard Gatell (205-89) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. American-French guard Alfredo Ott (190-83, college: Dillard) chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds. Lithuanian center Gediminas Zyle (210-88, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Joan Tomas (202-92) added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Castello moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Palma. Castello will face Magia Huesca (#14) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
