Regular Season Round 9: Tochigi Brex - Toyota Alvark 63-71

Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Tochigi Brex (2-6) was defeated at home by second ranked Toyota Alvark (7-1) 71-63 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-63. American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and guard Seiya Ando (184-92) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and international guard Yusuke Endo (185-89) scored 15 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota Alvark have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with SeaHorses. Tochigi Brex lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Toyota Alvark will face Toshiba Thunders (#4) in Kanagawa in the next round. Tochigi Brex will play on the road against Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
