Regular Season Round 9: Shimane SM - Ryukyu GK 61-56

There was a change at the B League leadership position after last games. Round 9 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Ryukyu GK (5-3). They were defeated by third ranked Shimane Magic (4-4) 61-56 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ryukyu GK. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Josh Scott (208-93, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and point guard Edward Yamamoto (173-86) chipped in 15 points. Shimane Magic's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) with 12 points and 7 rebounds and international guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) scored 14 points. Shimane Magic moved-up to second place, which they share with San-en and Toyama Grouses. Ryukyu GK at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Kyoto Hannar.. They were replaced at the leadership position by Kyoto Hannar.. Ryukyu GK will play next round against strong Chiba Jets trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Shimane Magic will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Nishinomiya S. in Hyogo.
