Regular Season Round 6: Yamanashi QB - Aishin AW 67-82

Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Aishin Wings (2-4) beat on the road bottom-ranked Yamanashi QB (0-6) 82-67 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Wings. Yamanashi QB was better in second period 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aishin Wings dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Yamanashi QB's 32 and made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Yamanashi QB 50-29 including a 35-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aishin Wings made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was Kiho Miyashita (178-98) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Haruki Takahara (173-99) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Uchibori Murasaki (165-94) who recorded 18 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Miki Huzii (168-87) added 17 points respectively. Five Aishin Wings and four Yamanashi QB players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aishin Wings maintains eighth position with 2-4 record, which they share with Toyota B SR and Haneda Vickies. Loser Yamanashi QB still closes the standings with six games lost. Aishin Wings will face higher ranked Hitachi Cougars (#7) in Hitachinaka in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Yamanashi QB will play at home against Toyota B SR (#10) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
