Regular Season Round 8: Fukushima - Bambitious Nara 83-70
Date: October 22, 2017
Rather predictable result when second ranked Fukushima (6-2) defeated at home 6th ranked Bambitious Nara (1-7) 83-70 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Fukushima. Bambitious Nara was better in third quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) who added 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. South African center Tshilidzi Nephawe (208-89, college: N.Mexico St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and forward Junpei Honda (190-88) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukushima have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-2 record behind leader Gunma, which they share with Ehime OV. Bambitious Nara lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with seven games lost. Fukushima will face Sendai 89ers (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bambitious Nara will play against the league's second-placed Orange Vikings and hope to win that game.
