Regular Season Round 5: Gorizont II - COR Victoria 65-85
Date: October 22, 2017
Bottom-ranked Gorizont II (0-2) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 85-65 loss to fifth ranked BrGU COR Victoria (2-2) in Minsk. The game was mostly controlled by BrGU COR Victoria. Gorizont II was better in third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BrGU COR Victoria players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Forward Anastasia Babak (177-2) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eleven shots !!!). Darya Panasiuk (176-96) contributed with 27 points and 6 assists for the winners. Point guard Aleksandra Petushkova (170-0) answered with 10 points and 9 assists and power forward Yana Zuborenko (186-1) added 8 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Gorizont II. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BrGU COR Victoria maintains fifth place with 2-2 record. Gorizont II at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. BrGU COR Victoria will play against higher ranked Tsmoki-Minsk (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gorizont II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena Gorizont.
