Regular Season Round 4: MuKi - JyWe 90-68

Date: October 22, 2017
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked MuKi as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Division. MuKi smashed 5th ranked JyWe in Helsinki 90-68. It looked good early as JyWe took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then MuKi had a 23-15 second period charge getting the lead and JyWe was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-90. MuKi players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by guard Robin Avist (190-0) who scored that evening 23 points and point guard Joonas Timonen (188-0) supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Even 21 points and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) by guard Aleksi Kantonen (188-95) did not help to save the game for JyWe. American point guard Glenn Stokes (170-76, college: American) added 17 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. JyWe at the other side dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. JyWe will play next round against Raholan Pyrkiva trying to get back on the winning streak. MuKi will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Loimaan Korikonkarit on the road.
