This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to ninth ranked Tulikivi (2-4) 71-61 on Sunday evening. Tulikivi forced 19 Verviers-Pep. turnovers and outrebounded them 55-35 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Lisa Mukeba (184-96) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Nele Poffyn (173-91) chipped in 18 points. Alyssa Barache (172-98) produced 22 points and 4 steals and French point guard Najat Ouardad (152-90, college: Auburn, agency: LBM Management) added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tulikivi moved-up to eighth place. Verviers-Pep. lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Laarne. Tulikivi will meet at home R.Spirou Monceau (#9) in the next round. Verviers-Pep. will play against Laarne and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
