Sixteenth-ranked Real Betis (0-5) gave a tough game to leader Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (5-0) in Sevilla. The visitors from Madrid managed to secure only three-point victory 73-70. However their fans expected much easier game. Real Betis was ahead by 8 points after three quarters before a 21-10 charge of Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, which allowed them to win the game. They outrebounded Real Betis 38-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Mexican guard Francisco Cruz (190-89, college: Wyoming) nailed 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Montenegrin center Blagota Sekulic (210-82) accounted for 10 points and 6 rebounds. American Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) came up with 15 points and 7 rebounds and Congolese-French forward Nobel Boungou-Colo (202-88, agency: Alti Sport) added 17 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for Real Betis in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Real Madrid. Real Betis at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Burgos. Baloncesto Fuenlabrada will play against Blusens Monbus (#7) in Santiago de Comp in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Real Betis will play on the road against Joventut (#16) in Badalona and hopes to get finally their first victory.
