Regular Season Round 9: Chiba Jets - Osaka Evessa 77-70

Very expected game when 5th ranked Osaka Evessa (2-6) was defeated on the road by first ranked Chiba Jets (6-2) 77-70 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-70. The former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) stepped up and scored 31 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and American forward David Wear (208-90, college: UCLA) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Osaka Evessa's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chiba Jets have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory Chiba Jets went down to second position due to points difference, which they share with Toshiba BT and Hokkaido L. Loser Osaka Evessa dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Chiba Jets will face league's second-placed Ryukyu GK in Okinawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Osaka Evessa will play on the road against Shiga L-Stars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
