Regular Season Round 5: Hainaut - Mondeville 73-69

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Hainaut (2-3) beat higher ranked Mondeville (2-3) in Saint-Amand 73-69 on Sunday. Slovakian forward Katarina Tetemondova (188-88) nailed 15 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and Senegalese point guard Bintou Dieme-Marizy (164-84) accounted for 17 points and 5 rebounds. Czech swingman Romana Hejdova (184-88) came up with 20 points and Canadian forward Kimberley Gaucher-Smith (185-84, college: Utah) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Mondeville in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hainaut moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Mondeville. Mondeville lost third consecutive game. Hainaut will meet higher ranked Lattes Montpellier (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mondeville will play against the league's leader Flammes and will have a slim chance for a victory.
