Regular Season Round 4: MIA-RO Cantu - Dolomiti En. TR 88-80

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked MIA-RO Cantu and 10th ranked Dolomiti En. TR had identical 1-2 record. This time MIA-RO Cantu used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Trento 88-80. It looked good early as Dolomiti En. TR took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then MIA-RO Cantu had a 25-22 second period charge getting the lead and Dolomiti En. TR was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-88. Strangely Dolomiti En. TR outrebounded MIA-RO Cantu 43-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The winners were led by American guard Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris) who scored that evening 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals and international forward Christian Burns (203-85, college: Thomas Jefferson) supported him with 20 points and 9 rebounds. MIA-RO Cantu's coach Marco Sodini allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds by American swingman Dominique Sutton (198-86, college: N.C.Central) did not help to save the game for Dolomiti En. TR. Cape Verdean-Portuguese Joao Gomes (201-85) added 15 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Five MIA-RO Cantu and four Dolomiti En. TR players scored in double figures. MIA-RO Cantu (2-2) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with The Flexx PT and Banco di Srd. Dolomiti En. TR lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with three games lost. MIA-RO Cantu's next round opponent will be higher ranked Scandone AV (#4) in Avellino and it may be quite challenging game. Dolomiti En. TR will play at home against Grissin Bon RE (#15) and hope to win that game.
