Regular Season Round 5: Sammic ISB - Prat 69-73

An interesting game was played in Azpeitia where CB Prat (#6) beat host Sammic ISB (#7) 73-69 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sammic ISB. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-10. But Sammic ISB won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CB Prat dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Sammic ISB's 28. Canadian-Nigerian guard Caleb Agada (193-94, college: Ottawa, agency: Blacktop Management) stepped up and scored 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Romanian center Emanuel Cate (206-97) chipped in 13 points. Point guard Gaizka Maiza (191-96) responded with 10 points and 8 assists and Canadian guard Joe De-Ciman (198-94, college: Colorado St.) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. CB Prat (4-1) moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Sammic ISB dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Araberri. CB Prat will meet at home Leyma Basquet (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sammic ISB will play against Lleida Basquet (#10) and hope to secure a win.
