Regular Season Round 6: Mitsubishi K. - Fujitsu RW 76-74

There was a minor upset in Nagoya where one of their biggest challengers Fujitsu RW (4-2) was edged by seventh ranked Mitsubishi K. (4-2) 76-74 on Sunday. Fujitsu RW cut a 13-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Aya Watanabe (170-92) who scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The former international center Risa Nishioka (184-97) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international power forward Megumi Shinohara (184-91) who recorded 23 points and 7 rebounds and international point guard Rui Machida (161-93) added 12 points and 13 assists respectively. Four Fujitsu RW players scored in double figures. Fujitsu RW's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mitsubishi K. moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Fujitsu RW. Mitsubishi K. will face Niigata R. (#11) in Tokyo in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
