Regular Season Round 8: Kagawa FA - Hiroshima D. 65-68

A very close game took place in Takamatsu between Dragonflies and Kagawa FA. Third ranked Dragonflies (5-3) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked Kagawa FA (2-6). Dragonflies managed to escape with a 3-point win 68-65 on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 47-42 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Dragonflies made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dragonflies made 8 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 blocks. Forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and guard Montay Brandon (203-93, college: Florida St.) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dragonflies keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Kagawa FA keeps the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Iwate Big Bulls. Dragonflies will meet at home league's leader Fukuoka Rizing in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kagawa FA will play against Kumamoto V. (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
