Regular Season Round 9: Toyama Grouses - Kyoto Hannar. 73-83

Quite upsetting was Toyama Grouses' home defeat in a game versus Kyoto Hannar. 83-73. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Kyoto Hannar.. Toyama Grouses managed to win fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Kyoto Hannar. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. The best player for the winners was American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) who scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Ito Tatsuya (173-94) chipped in 9 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Naoki Uto (188-91) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Dexter Pittman (208-88, college: Texas, agency: Inception Sports) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kyoto Hannar. (5-3) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Ryukyu GK. Loser Toyama Grouses dropped to the second place with four games lost. They share the position with San-en and Shimane SM. Kyoto Hannar. will meet at home league's second-placed Ryukyu GK in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyama Grouses will play against Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
