A very close game took place in Kotka between BC Nokia and KTP-Basket. Third ranked BC Nokia (5-2) got a very close victory on the road over 11th ranked KTP-Basket (2-6). BC Nokia managed to escape with a 3-point win 93-90 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 50-45 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for BC Nokia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. It was a great evening for American point guard Vincent Council (186-90, college: Providence) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 6 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Lawrence Gilbert (200-86, college: La-Monroe, agency: Mansfield and Associates) helped adding 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American center Kenneth Simms (206-86, college: Cumberland, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and guard Michael Pounds (189-88) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BC Nokia maintains third place with 5-2 record behind leader Kouvot, which they share with Helsinki Seagulls. KTP-Basket lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
