Regular Season Round 4: Tresnjevka - Istanbul Univ. 88-59

Bottom-ranked Turkish Istanbul Uni (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 88-59 loss to fourth ranked Croatian Tresnjevka (2-2) in Zagreb on Wednesday evening. They also forced 24 Istanbul Uni turnovers and outrebounded them 44-30 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Tresnjevka especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Lucija Kostic (187-0) who helped to win the game recording 4 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists and 6 steals and guard Karla Erjavec (172-99) who added 18 points during the contest. Four Tresnjevka players scored in double figures. Tresnjevka's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Akalan Sevval responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Senay Zeybek (160-1) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Tresnjevka moved-up to third place in A, which they share with Play Off. Istanbul Uni at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Tresnjevka will meet league's second-placed Crvena Zvezda in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Istanbul Uni will play against Beroe (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
