Regular Season Round 10: Toyota Alvark - Toshiba BT 99-91

Everything went according to plan in Tokyo where first ranked Toyota Alvark (8-1) won against 4th ranked Toshiba Thunders (7-3) 99-91 on Wednesday. Toyota Alvark made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Toyota Alvark especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international forward Daiki Tanaka (191-91) fired 25 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Landen Lucas (208-93, college: Kansas, agency: Duran International) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Five Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. American power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) produced a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and international point guard Ryusei Shinoyama (178-88) added 14 points and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Toyota Alvark have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-1 record, which they share with SeaHorses. Loser Toshiba Thunders dropped to the third place with three games lost. Toyota Alvark will face Toyama Grouses (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Toshiba Thunders will play against Niigata Albirex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
