Regular Season Round 3: Gimnasia LP - Temperley 79-76

A very interesting game took place in La Plata. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of CA Temperley (1-1) to Gimnasia LP (2-1) 79-76 in the game for the first place. Gimnasia LP outrebounded CA Temperley 42-27 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by CA Temperley helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Howard Wilkerson (198-84, college: Wofford) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Leonardo La-Bella (180-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists for the winners. Guard Lucas Ortiz (190-87) answered with 24 points and forward Leopoldo Ibanez-Paz (192-89) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for CA Temperley. Five Gimnasia LP and four CA Temperley players scored in double figures. Gimnasia LP will have a break next round. CA Temperley will play on the road against Ciclista in Juninense and hope to win that game.
