Regular Season Round 5: Korikouvot - Jarvenpaa 86-77

Rather predictable result in Kouvola where sixth ranked Korikouvot (3-2) beat 10th ranked Jarvenpaa (1-4) 86-77 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-18. But Jarvenpaa won second period 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was swingman Vili Nyman (198-98) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Juuso Maenpaa (198-93) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Five Korikouvot players scored in double figures. Cameroonian forward Arsene Towa (193-81) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and Villematti Kopio (183-92) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Korikouvot moved-up to fourth place in Division. Loser Jarvenpaa dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. Korikouvot will face Pyrinto II (#9) in Tampere in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
