Regular Season Round 10: Niigata Albirex - Yokohama BC 70-63

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Niigata Albirex (4-6) defeated at home 6th ranked Yokohama BC (1-8) 70-63 on Wednesday. Niigata Albirex made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Niigata Albirex outrebounded Yokohama BC 44-33 including 32 on the defensive glass. Yokohama BC was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) fired a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. Point guard Shunki Hatakeyama (170-91) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Yokohama BC's coach let to play eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Niigata Albirex went down to fifth position due to points difference. Yokohama BC lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Niigata Albirex will face higher ranked Toshiba Thunders (#3) in Kanagawa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Yokohama BC will play on the road against Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
