Regular Season Round 3: Cactus Tbilisi - Batumi 48-89

The most surprising game was a loss of Cactus Tbilisi (2-1) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were rolled over by Batumi (1-1) 89-48. The game without a history. Batumi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 22 Cactus Tbilisi turnovers and outrebounded them 47-33 including 36 on the defensive glass. Batumi looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Cactus Tbilisi's players. It was a great evening for Ukrainian point guard Illya Shemosiuk (188-85) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Ukrainian forward Leonid Stefanishin (199-85) helped adding 23 points. Four Batumi players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Chris Johnson (190-91, college: St.Catharine) with 11 points and 5 rebounds and guard Davit Lomidze (196-97) scored 10 points. Cactus Tbilisi's coach Archil Jgenti gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Batumi is looking forward to face Mgzavrebi (#7) in Tbilisi in the next round. Cactus Tbilisi will play at home against Kutaisi (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
