The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Haukar (4-1) in Kopavogur on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Breidablik (2-3) 92-74. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Haukar. Breidablik dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Haukar's 40. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Ivory Crawford (178-92, college: Illinois) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and center Sollilja Bjarnadottir (171-95) chipped in 13 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Crawford is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The former international swingman Helena Sverrisdottir (184-88, college: TCU) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Cherise Daniel (180-87, college: Ohio St.) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Haukar players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Breidablik moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Haukar at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Valur and Stjarnan. Breidablik is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Njardvik (#8) on the road in the next round. Haukar will play against Keflavik (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
