Regular Season Round 4: Montana - Medvescak 82-68

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Croatian ZKK Medvescak (1-3) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Bulgarian Montana 2003 (3-1) 82-68. They made 21-of-21 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Montana 2003 outrebounded ZKK Medvescak 48-34 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. The winners were led by point guard Viktoria Stoycheva (165-92) who scored that evening 19 points and 6 assists and American power forward Sarah Boothe (195-90, college: Stanford) supported her with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Even 5 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists by forward Iva Todoric (174-93) did not help to save the game for ZKK Medvescak. Center Ana Vojtulek (187-99) added 13 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Montana 2003 moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with Celje and Partizan. Defending Croatian champion ZKK Medvescak keeps the eleventh position with three games lost. Montana 2003's next round opponent will be Ragusa (#12) in Dubrovnik where they are favorite. ZKK Medvescak will play at home against Celje and hope to win that game.
