The game in Manama was also quite interesting. Third ranked Al-Ahli (6-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Al-Ittihad (3-4). Al-Ahli managed to secure a 6-point victory 70-64 on Thursday. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Hesham Sarhan (-92) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 4 assists. American forward Quinton Doggett (206-90, college: Southern) accounted for 14 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Antwan Wilkerson (201-91, college: Johnson C. Smith) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists and Ali Ghadeer added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Al-Ittihad in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al-Ahli have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Al-Nweidrat. Al-Ittihad lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Al-Ahli will meet at home Al-Riffa (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Al-Ittihad will play against Al-Bahrain and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
