Regular Season Round 5: HBA-Marsky - Porvoon Tarmo 107-80

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked HBA-Marsky as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Division. HBA-Marsky smashed 8th ranked Porvoon Tarmo in Helsinki 107-80. The game without a history. HBA-Marsky led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. HBA-Marsky forced 19 Porvoon Tarmo turnovers and outrebounded Porvoon Tarmo 39-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Miika Heinonen (191-99) who scored 18 points. Guard Ville Tahvanainen (193-0) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. Four HBA-Marsky players scored in double figures. Forward Michael Besselink (198-99) produced 23 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and forward Juho Gummerus (201-97) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Porvoon Tarmo at the other side dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. Porvoon Tarmo will play next round against Lahti trying to get back on the winning streak. HBA-Marsky will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked ToPo. It will be extra interesting game as ToPo is their local rival from Helsinki.
