Regular Season Round 10: Ryukyu GK - Chiba Jets 61-72

Top ranked Ryukyu GK (6-4) recorded its fourth loss in Okinawa on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Chiba Jets (8-2) 72-61. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The other American import power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) chipped in 16 points. American forward Hassan Martin (201-95, college: Rhode Island) produced 14 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chiba Jets have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-2 record having just one point less than leader Ryukyu GK. Ryukyu GK at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost. Chiba Jets will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ryukyu GK will play again at home against the league's second-placed Chiba Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
