Regular Season Round 10: Toshiba BT - Niigata Albirex 93-78

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Niigata Albirex (4-6) against fourth ranked Toshiba Thunders (7-3) on Friday night. Visiting Niigata Albirex was defeated by Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa 93-78. Toshiba Thunders players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) contributed with 25 points and 4 assists for the winners. Toshiba Thunders' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American Davante Gardner (203-91, college: Marquette) replied with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) added 6 points and 5 assists in the effort for Niigata Albirex. Toshiba Thunders moved-up to third place. Niigata Albirex at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Toshiba Thunders will again play against Niigata Albirex (#5) at home in the next round. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round.
