Regular Season Round 4: Thor AK - Hottur 93-85

Rather expected game in Akureyri where bottom-ranked Hottur (0-4) was defeated by ninth ranked Thor AK (2-2) 93-85 on Friday. Thor AK looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Hottur's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American Marques Oliver (201-91, college: Delaware St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 20 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Palmi Jonsson (196-93) who added 27 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Ragnar Albertsson (190-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Sigmar Hakonarson (181-92) scored 20 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Thor AK moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Hottur still closes the standings with four games lost. Thor AK will face league's leader KR in Reykjavik in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hottur will play at home against Grindavik (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
