Regular Season Round 3: Charleville - Fos-Provence 83-93

There was no surprise when Charleville-Mezieres (0-3) was defeated at home by Provence Basket (2-1) 93-83 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Provence Basket. Charleville-Mezieres managed to win third quarter 25-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Provence Basket shot 61.7 percent from the field. Provence Basket outrebounded Charleville-Mezieres 31-17 including a 21-9 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW) who scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). The former international forward Tariq Kirksay (199-79, college: Iona, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots). At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Alexandre Moisy (175-95) who recorded 24 points and 4 assists and American forward Dom Morris (201-90, college: Boston U.) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Provence Basket and four Charleville-Mezieres players scored in double figures. Charleville-Mezieres' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Provence Basket will meet at home Sluc Nancy (#7) in the next round. Charleville-Mezieres will play against Chorale de Roanne (#4) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
