Caen defeated Quimper UJAP at home 80-74. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 21-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Caen forced 20 Quimper UJAP turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Gregg Thondique (201-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Maxime Choplin (181-92) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 assists and American forward James Ellisor (195-90, college: Bemidji St.) scored 18 points and 4 steals. Quimper UJAP will play next round against strong Lille Metropole trying to get back on the winning streak. Caen will try to continue on its current victory against STB Le Havre on the road.
