Regular Season Round 5: Polski Cukier - PGE Turow 92-80
Date: October 28, 2017
The game in Torun was also quite interesting. 5th ranked PGE Turow (3-3) played at the court of sixth ranked Twarde Pierniki (4-2). Twarde Pierniki defeated PGE Turow 92-80 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of PGE Turow. The game was mostly controlled by Twarde Pierniki. PGE Turow was better in third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Twarde Pierniki especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Twarde Pierniki made 7 blocks. American point guard Glenn Cosey (183-92, college: E.Kentucky, agency: 3Eye) stepped up and scored 25 points and 8 assists for the winners and international Aaron Cel (203-87) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Cameron Ayers (196-91, college: Bucknell) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import point guard Myles Mack (175-93, college: Rutgers) scored 13 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Twarde Pierniki moved-up to third place. Loser PGE Turow dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Twarde Pierniki will face Czarni (#9) in Slupsk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. PGE Turow will play on the road against Wilki Morskie in Szczecin and hope to win that game.
