The game in Luxembourg supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Amicale (5-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Contern (2-5). Amicale smashed Contern 104-80 on Saturday. Amicale dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Contern's 34 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Contern 44-33 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Shavon Coleman (196-92, college: LSU, agency: Court Side) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds. The former international power forward Billy McDaniel (199-84, college: Ark.-Monticello) accounted for 30 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. The former international swingman Rene Wolzfeld (194-91) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds and American guard Jaylen Bland (190-93, college: Cal-Riverside) added 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Contern in the defeat. Contern's coach Franck Meriguet gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Etzella. Loser Contern dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Residence. Amicale will meet Etzella (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Contern will play against Sparta (#7) in Bertrange and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
