An interesting game for Akita Happinets (10-0) which hosted in Akita 3rd ranked Sendai 89ers (4-6). Top-ranked Akita Happinets managed to get a 11-point victory 80-69. It was a very good performance for Bahamas power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 rebounds. American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Coleby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Guard Kaito Ishikawa (188-90) replied with 17 points and U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Sendai 89ers. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Akita Happinets have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. Loser Sendai 89ers keep the third place with six games lost. Akita Happinets will face again Sendai 89ers (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
