Regular Season Round 7: Hitachi Cougars - Aishin AW 48-65

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eighth ranked Aishin Wings (3-4) beat 7th ranked Hitachi Cougars (3-4) in Hitachinaka 65-48 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Aishin Wings held Hitachi Cougars to an opponent 23.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 34.9 percent accuracy of the winners. It was a very good performance for Kiho Miyashita (178-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Point guard Kiri Endo (167-97) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Chika Suzuki (183-93) answered with 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Runo Nishizawa (167-94) added 8 points in the effort for Hitachi Cougars. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Aishin Wings. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hitachi Cougars and Toyota B SR. Hitachi Cougars lost their third game in a row. Aishin Wings will have a break next round.
