Regular Season Round 6: Njardvik - Breidablik 67-81

Bottom-ranked Njardvik (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 81-67 loss to sixth ranked Breidablik (3-3) in Njardvik on Saturday evening. American guard Ivory Crawford (178-92, college: Illinois) had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Sollilja Bjarnadottir (171-95) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Crawford is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Breidablik players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American Shalonda Winton (180-91, college: Cleveland St.) with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 17 rebounds and point guard Bjork Gunnarsdotir (165-98) scored 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Breidablik moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Skallagrimur. Loser Njardvik still closes the standings with six games lost. Breidablik will meet at home Snaefell (#7) in the next round. Njardvik will play against Keflavik and hopes to get finally their first victory.
